Dreaming Of A Vacation....

I have been dreaming of going on a vacation lately... a DREAM vacation...

I want....

- to go to a place where I don't have to think about anyone or anything but me...
- to go to a place where they know what I want and just bring it to me.
-to go to a place where I don't have to make any choices.
- to go to a place where they will plan my day and make sure I get to the planned things on time.
- to go to a place that has nap time....
- to go to a place where I don't have to share my food!
- to go to a place where someone else worries about me.
- to go to a place where my happiness is their top priority.
- to go to a place that has a ball pit for adults.
- to go to a place that will come to my rescue if I'm sad and miss my family.
- to go to a place where the biggest worry is if my beach chair is being used by another well deserving vacationer.
- to go to a place that I don't have to wipe any ones butt, plan anyones doctor appts, make anyones lunch, or any of the other things like that...

Now-- who wants to open this place and who wants to go with me???

Let me say as a closing: I LOVE my family. I love being a mom, BUT I'm human and its a full time+ job-- and everyone deserves a little vacation from being a Mommy/Daddy sometimes!

Potty Training...

Potty training has been a HUGE success!! We are able to wear "big boy panties" (Teagans words) during the day and have had ZERO accidents in the past week! He even has gotten over his fear of sitting on "big potties" in public places!!!!

Headaches, Laughs, and OH MYS

Recently I've started to realize that I think, say, and talk about things that 5 years ago I never would have thought would be part of my every day life... so here is my list of things that only a mom would understand....

You Know You Are A Mom When:

*you put your kids to bed and look at the toys all over the living room and think, "No point in putting those away tonight." because you know in less then 14 hours they'll be back all over the floor.

* you no longer run to pick food that is dropped because your toddler will take care of it-- or the dog.

*you can read certain books with out even having to take your eyes off of whatever else you are trying to do.

*words such as the, and, or, of,-- are not needed for you to understand the message.

* you have said this, "Please stop climbing the bookcase" or any type of furniture.

* Your idea of bargaining includes naps...

*You have figured out how to get through any given location WITH OUT seeing the toys.

*You see no issue with eating food that may or may not have been in your kid's mouth already.

*whats your husbands is your husbands, whats your kids is your kids, but what is yours is EVERYONES.

*when you haven't eaten a meal that you haven't had to share in months.

*when you take 3-5 minutes longer in the bathroom then really needed because its one of the few places you can be alone.

* when you wait to "need" something till your husband is home so you can get out of the house alone.

* when talking about poo no longer grosses you out.

*when you can sing TV theme songs on command. (Sunnnnnnny days sweeeepin the clouds awayyyy)

*when you know the names of the trains, dinos, etc

*when someone says, "What do you want for your birthday/Christmas etc" and the first thing that comes to your mind is something for your kids.

*when you have a day off and you want to go somewhere that has even more kids at it...

Who wants to add theirs???

Mommy WOW! I'm A Big Kid Now!

As if the title isn't enough of a clue..... IT'S POTTY TIME IN THE ALLEN HOUSE!!! That's right-- we are potty training Teagan! It's going slow and fast all at the same time.... He's starting to catch on and all that I really care about is that we are making forward motion with it....

He has Thomas The Tank Engine underwear which he insists on keeping as clean as possible and PullUps with the "learning design" which means if he wets them-- the design goes away-- he LOVES checking and see he has kept it dry enough for the design to still be there!

Soooo MOMMY WOW-- HES becoming A BIG KID NOW!

DADDY DADDY DADDY

Teagan is a great sleeper-- a REALLY great sleeper. We don't very often get a middle of the night wake up call- but tonight/this morning we did.

Teagan woke up SCREAMING, "DADDY DADDY I NEED YOU DADDY" And of course Daddy got up and went in to check on him-- All was okay and he just needed a quick snuggle and then went right back to sleep.

Now I know this sounds silly, but there was this horrid sad feeling in the bottom of my stomach-- I wanted him to call ME... I know its silly so I didn't give in to it-- I'm glad he wants his Daddy some of the time-- Mommy needs a break- but I do love cuddles from my boy!

2011 Blizzard??

So we were supposed to get a "blizzard" of "historical" and "epic" proportions... I wouldn't say we got epic or historical weather but I could be crazy-- because I enjoyed this weather from the warmth of my home-- not even venturing outside to just look at it-- I peered out the window said, "yup white stuff" and went back to my warm couch/bed/living room.

Soooo Blizzard 2011 was a success in my eyes!
